Land of sailors, Liguria has never lost its long lasting tradition and passion for the sea.
Explore the West Mediterranean and discover other exciting itineraries on board of the most modern ships worldwide. Liguria region is homeport for both MSC and Costa Cruises, respectively based in Genova and Savona Ports.
Flying to Genoa airport to embark on a cruise ship is easy and convenient. Moreover, whether you are leaving from Savona or Genova port, there are plenty of good reasons to extend your holiday of a couple of days or simply land the day before embarkation to visit Genova. Amusing, elegant, multicultural, maritime, theatrical, musical, savoury, historical, artistic...be surprised by the beauties of its historic old town, one of the biggest in Europe, visit the Aquarium and the Sea Museum, admire one of the several art exhibitions in Palazzo Ducale, watch the Opera at the Carlo Felice theatre.
Genoa, but not only! If you are embarking on a Costa Cruise ship you cannot miss Savona, a mix of culture, beauty, flavours and fun between the land and the sea. The best place to start is at Priamar, an old fort built in the 16th century, which looks out towards the sea like a sentinel. With the passing of time, it has managed to adapt itself to different uses without losing its charm: its big and charming spaces today host shows, exhibitions and festivals.
