Handling

Genova Airport directly or indirectly carries out the activities related to the management of the airport activity, including the provision of ground assistance services (handling) for passengers, aircraft and freight.

Available services are: ground assistance and supervision, passenger assistance, baggage handling and transfer, cargo and mail assistance, apron operational assistance, cleaning and other aircraft services.

Slot requests
According to the EC 95/93 and EC 793/2004 Regulations, Genoa Airport is a "coordinated airport". In order to operate at Genoa Airport, each commercial flight operated with aircraft with a capacity exceeding 19 seats or cargo (including the relative positioning flights) must therefore have obtained the assignment of a slot by the national coordinator. Assoclearance (Sita: ROMSPXH mail: slot@assoclearance.it available from 9.00 / 17.00 from Monday to Friday). State, military, humanitarian flights and emergency landings are excluded.

Please note that outside the opening hours of Assoclearance (Mon-Fri 9.00-17.00) the Carriers must communicate the requests for slot assignment or modification to the Genoa Airport Manager at dutymanager@airport.genova.it

Traffic development incentive policy

Aeroporto di Genova recognized the need to undertake actions aimed at developing air connections to and from Genova in order to efficiently use its infrastructure, provide a service in line with the expectations of the reference area and support the development of new business.

To this end, Aeroporto di Genova has issued, in compliance with the Guidelines issued by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport on 11 August 2016, an incentive program for the development of air traffic.

This Policy is implemented in order to encourage, in compliance with the principles of transparency and equal opportunities for the air carriers concerned, the development and consolidation of passenger traffic at the Genova airport, ensuring effective use of the airport infrastructures and the increased mobility and regional connectivity.

CARGO

Genoa Airport is particularly well equipped for cargo activities. The cargo terminal, located along the western edge of the aircraft apron, consists of a building that includes 3,150 square metres of office space and 3,000 square metres of warehouse for handling parcels with a total volume of 16,000 cubic metres.

In the building all the services necessary for the handling of goods with domestic and international origins/destinations are provided, such as cold storage, live animal shelter, boxes for radioactive materials, suitable storage areas, offices for customs authorities and forwarding agents.

Aircraft up to B747 and AN124 class can park in front of the facility on the airside.

Fiscal warehouse for VAT purposes

As of 4 November 2009, the Airport Cargo Service has obtained authorisation from the competent authorities to maintain and manage a Fiscal Warehouse for VAT purposes. MLE/B-CUBE Shuttle

Since June 2008, a shuttle bus has been in service for the regular transport of import & export goods between Genoa Airport and Linate and Malpensa airports. The service operates from Monday to Friday. For further information please contact GOAS Office at 010 6015265/5270 - info@goascargo.com
