Genoa Airport expresses its closeness to all the people touched by the tragedy that took place in Genoa on Tuesday 14 August.
Due to the collapse of the "Ponte Morandi" viaduct of the A10 motorway, between Genova Ovest and Genova Aeroporto, departing passengers are advised to move to the airport far in advance. These are the recommended ways of moving to/from the airport:
Both from the west and from the east it is possible to use the train to reach the "Genova Sestri Aeroporto" station, then continue using the AMT i24 service and the "SP spcial shuttle bus" service (free). Starting from August 16th Trenitalia has planned further additional races. The list is available at this address. FREE BUS SERVICE BETWEEN PRINCIPE STATION AND GENOA AIRPORT
AMT and the Municipality of Genoa, in order to easy the mobility of citizens, started an additional special bus service between Principe Piazza Acquaverde in Sestri Ponente (Via Hermada), with transit, in both directions, to Cristoforo Colombo Airport (Arrivals area, ground floor). The service is called "SP special shuttle bus". The service is carried out from 6.00 a.n. to 8.00 p.m. The service is free.
Volabus service connects Genova Brignole railway station, city center and Genova Principe railway station to Genoa Airport. The cost of the ride is 6 euros per person. Special fares are applied for online bookings. Volabus service is regularly circulating, but delays are not excluded due to possible traffic congestion. It is recommended to leave well in advance.
AIRPORT SHUTTLE AIRPORT-PORTOFINO
The ATP Airport Shuttle service between Portofino, Santa Margherita, Rapallo and Genoa Airport runs through the Aurelia instead of the highway; estimated travel time is approximately 2 hours.
- From the city center you can reach the airport via Guido Rossa or, alternatively, by the urban road system of Sampierdarena and Cornigliano.
- For those arriving from western Liguria: A10 motorway to the "Genova Aeroporto" exit.
- For those arriving from Piedmont and Lombardy, it is advisable to use the A26 motorway to the junction with the A10 (Prà), then continue in the direction of "Genova Aeroporto" exit.
- The situation is more critical for those coming from the eastern part of the region, due to the interruption of the A10 motorway between Genova Ovest / junction between A7 and A10 and the tollgate of Genova Aeroporto. For those using the A12 motorway it is possible to exit at Genoa Nervi, Genova Est or Genova Ovest, then to continue towards the airport via urban road.
Flights are regular. The carriers suggest passengers who need assistance and information to contact them through the call centers. The airport ticket office is available to passengers at the airport. All airport staff is available to provide information and assistance.
